This Wicked Tongue
Tina V, or to give her her correct name, Princess Christina, is a real princess, as in Stoner Rock Meets Pop Princess. Those velvet vocals that suddenly erupt with volcanic intensity - how is it possible? To hear her belt out songs like Perpetual Motion and Fools Rush In, well you would hardly believe her solo stuff sees her compared with singers such as Nerina Pallot and Katie Melua, but there you are.
We heard her singing one day and were appalled to hear that she frequents all the rubbish plastic music places real musicians hate. It gets worse, she loves all that RnB stuff from Beyonce and co. Ah well, but with a voice like hers, and that ear for harmonies, we reckoned she belonged with us. So we stole her, and we aint never giving her back. Shes a self-taught pianist, and has also been known to grab the drumsticks and pound out a beat on-stage; and a fair guitar and even bass player to boot. Its her thats responsible for the keyboard sounds, live and recorded. She writes most of her songs on the piano, although we use piano mostly for dramatic effect rather than to lead the melody. Tinas pretty much at home prancing about the stage and leaving the rest of us to play the music though....Leaves doors open and lights on. Turns heads. Makes a mean spaghetti carbonara. Smokes cheroots. Favourite drink - whatevers going...If youd like to hear and see more of Tina, here are her youtube and myspace addresses: www.youtube.com/tinamaynard and www.myspace.com/thisistinav
