NEWS RELEASE: FILIPINO ICON FREDDIE AGUILAR TEAMS UP WITH BRITISH BAND TO RELEASE NEW DANCE SINGLE

22 August, London, United Kingdom, London electropop band Ooberfuse have teamed up with Filipino icon Freddie Aguilar to reinvent his timeless classic track, Anak. Taking his ballad that stormed the world in the 1970s, London based band offer a fresh new interpretation. Remaining true to the full emotional weight of the original, Ooberfuses 2014 version is set to make the song available to a whole new generation of listeners. The songs message is about the enduring love of a parent for a child come what may.

Freddie Aguilar says I was delighted when Ooberfuse sent me their song. I like what they've done and really hope that more people get to hear the song Anak and its message.

Cherrie Anderson, lead singer says It's an absolute honour and a privilege to work with the Philippines legendary songwriter. His song Anak has entered Filipino folklore and is regarded by many with the same reverence as the national anthem. To have our version endorsed by him is deeply humbling and affirming.

Hal St John says For me, Freddie Aguilar can be spoken of in the same breath as other legendary native troubadours like Bob Marley and Bob Dylan. They have a deep connection with the spirit of their people. They protect and keep intact the integrity of music as a mouthpiece for the purity of the human soul.
