Charity walk update by Malcolm Conlan
Charity walk update
Hi guys, firstly, thanks ever so much to everybody who has supported our charity walk from Bromley town centre to the Philippine Embassy in London.
We started out at 12 o'clock lunchtime and arrived at the Embassy at 16:30. When we got to the last couple of miles, on the New Kent road to Trafalgar Square, we had to do a bit of a power walk to finish on time, which was very exhausting! However, we believe our efforts have not been in vain, we expect to have raised over £400 in total!
Thanks so much to all our donors, supporters and of course Anthony Mariano of the Sambat Trust who is currently in the Far East. He had arranged for his parents to travel across the country to meet us at the Embassy in London and treat us to a wonderful meal in Chinatown to help celebrate our achievements!
Special thanks to ABS-CBN for covering our efforts, firstly to Patrick Ropeta for writing the online story about our walk which was shared over 4,000 times off the ABS-CBN news website! Thanks also to the ABS-CBN team in Manila.
Thanks also to Patrick for filming our walk in London and being so patient with us. Also to the BEU news team in both London and Manila. We hope and pray our walk and efforts will inspire others to help the country and people we both love so much. Finally, thanks ever so much to my walking partner, Peter Watson for helping me along the way, navigating as well as supplying me with sandwiches!
Maraming, maraming salamat to all and God bless you.
