Barrio Fiesta 2012

Can you imagine it? An aroma of freshly cooked Filipino food, the noise of a busy crowd, the screams and laughter from the fun fair, not to mention a live stage?

Yes, it is that time again, where the Filipino community gather together at Lampton Park for the annual most successful Barrio Fiesta outside of the Philippines.

The Philippine Centre in partnership with ABS-CBN presents the 28th Barrio Fiesta sa London in what is promising to be the biggest Barrio Fiesta yet!

It is at this event, where the strength of the Filipino community is at its best. Families and friends come together to enjoy the event, picnic and meet old friends, for some it is also an opportunity to provide services for the fiesta, these range from food and supermarket stalls, business stalls and other related opportunities.

The community comes together, both young and old from across the U.K. and indeed Europe and many say that attending the fiesta gives them a sense of being back home in the Philippines.

In previous years, we have seen the likes of KC Concepcion, Aga Mulach, John Lloyd Cruz, Yeng Costantino and Pokwang performing for and entertaining the crowds. Local performers range from cultural dance groups, talented artists including in previous years, Mutya Buena, Michelle Nathan, Monique Wilson, Jordan Saflor and the amazing talents of NUGROOVZ have also performed on stage for the thousands of Filipinos in attendance. I wonder who will be the guest performers from back home this year?

There is a wide variety of choices of food at the fiesta with many food stalls selling fresh and hot food. You are sure to find rice, pancit, lumpia, dinuguan, lechon, cassava cake, halo halo, sisig, etc. You name it, and you will find it at the barrio fiesta!

A number of business stalls use the Barrio Fiesta to promote their services with remittance companies, telecoms operators as well as Real Estate and cargo services.

Put it this way may it be food, clothes, money transfers, condos or even phone cards, you will find them all at Lampton park!

Rain or shine, the Barrio Fiesta is the main event for Filipinos everywhere. Mark the dates in your diary, Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2012, we look forward to seeing you at the 28th Barrio Fiesta sa London

Stay tuned for more updates.
